The Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is ideally located for many events, such as the local food-focused sagre, or food festivals, that are based in a particular town or village. One prime example is the Festa del Prosciutto di Carpegna DOP held in the village of Carpegna 40 km (25 miles) from the Tenuta. Then there are the international festivals, organized and supported by the Marche Regional Authority, such as the Rossini Opera Festival (August), and the three-day Festa del Duca held in mid-August in Urbino. In the autumn months, food is the focus. For example, there’s the Italian National White Truffle Festival. Held at Acqualagna 40 km (25 miles), it runs on selected weekends between the end of September and early-November.

To the west of the Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is a protected area of just under 5,000 hectares (1,230 acres), called the Parco Naturale Regionale Sasso Simone e Simoncello. In this area, where the Medici, the Malatesta, and the Montefeltro families vied for supremacy among themselves, while finding time to commission astounding works of art and architecture, are to be found a number of delightful hill-villages just waiting to be explored, including Macerata Feltria, Frontino, and Montegrimano Terme.

Our Reception staff will be delighted to provide guests with ideas for where to go, and what to see in the area.
