REASONS WHY SHOULD WE DRINK ORGANIC WINE?
We have been making organic wine since 2008
Everyone knows that drinking a glass of wine a day gives a lot of benefits, thanks to its anticoagulant and antithrombotic effects just to name a few. But not everyone knows that in the 1800’s a fungus destroyed all European wine production, radically changing its fate: chemical pesticides and herbicides were introduced to prevent diseases and help the growth of grapes.
All this does not apply to organic wine producers. Organic wine makers have to comply with the European Regulations 03/2012 to be certified: this means the cultivation of organic grapes has to be organic (free from chemicals such as fertilizers or herbicides); in the wine-making process can be done only with oenological products and processes that are authorised by the regulations; the use of sulphites must remain within the specified limits.
Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo is a certified organic farm (as you can see from the European logo on the label of our wines) and we are very proud of our collection of 6 different wines. The 12 hectares of vineyards grow on a land that has been organically cultivated for over 20 years, and in our “Officina Vinaria” we are experimenting with new blends and new state-of-the-art machinery.
Not only our organic wines do not contain any chemicals, but they respect and protect also the environment and consumers!
